My Story

Hello everyone,
Welcome to my blog. My name is Morenikeji and I am so excited about starting a blog as this is my first time. I am an early years teacher and I enjoy working with children. I read economics for my first degree, stumbled upon teaching and I found out that I love it. I look forward to going to class every day as I know each day is never the same. There is always something new, something to laugh about and something to ponder on. Presently I teach 3 to 4years old and it amazes me the things they say especially during circle time or story time. I have learnt not give up on children and this has helped me in my thinking also. We have a slogan in my classroom, “Don’t give up, try and try again until you get it”. I enjoy the way their face lightens up when they have gotten a concept or able to do something that they have been trying to do for a while. For example, when a child was able to put on his socks and shoes all by himself, the way he shouted, “I did it!”, really gladdened my heart. This and many are some of the reasons I enjoy working with children. To help me in my field and be better professional, I enrolled at Walden University for Masters Early Childhood Studies- Admin, Mgmt and Leadership. The journey has been exciting and challenging at the same and this is my first online course.

  1. Morenikeji,

This is a Wonderful Beginning to your First Blog!

Thank you for sharing your personal story of how you "stumbled" upon teaching. Your students and your Walden Colleagues are so lucky you made that stumble!

    So Positive!
    Thank you, Dr. Longo
